the last shadow

The soft focus and hazy light in this photo turn it into something from a dream - or, more likely, a nightmare. The threatening edge to this photo is subtle and therefore much more effective - what people fear most of all is the unknown. The sillhoutte of the person in the distance could go unnoticed on first glance, and it's only when we look back that we get the whole chilling view.
The lighting here is brilliant - the hazy mist adding to the colour and fear you've captured in this photo. The complimentary colours blend well and emphasise the light falling from above.
Overall I really like this photo - the mood is very strong and it's something I'll definitely favourite. There's only one area I'm unsure about - the blue amongst the leaves in the foreground. The focus here is good, but the colours don't quite match with the rest of the photo and are a little distracting.
